Subaru presented the third model from the Wilderness off-road line, designed specifically for the North American market . The third-generation Crosstrek compact crossover is taken as a basis: the original look has become even more brutal, the ground clearance has been increased, and the suspension has been improved.
The first model from the Wilderness line was made in 2021 based on the Outback cross wagon, it was very well received by customers and the press, because Subaru not only provided the off-road novelty with spectacular decor, but also carried out a significant technical refinement of the car. Last year, the Forester Wilderness was concocted according to the same recipe, but now the “wild essence” has been instilled in the third-generation Subaru Crosstrek, the junior crossover, whose American premiere took place just two months ago.

The retuned transmission improved the crossover's ability to climb hills, and the towing weight of the trailer more than doubled to 1,588 kg. In the proprietary X-Mode system, which is responsible for driving settings, there are two off-road modes — «snow/mud» and «deep snow/wet mud».
The ground clearance of the crossover in the Wilderness version has been increased from 221 to 236 mm due to the installation of longer springs and shock absorbers, the suspension has become longer-stroke, the smoothness of the ride when driving off-road has improved, the approach angle has increased from 18 to 20 degrees, the exit angle has increased from 30.1 to 33 degrees, ramp angle from 19.7 to 21.1 degrees. A metal protective plate is installed in the front part of the bottom. Specially designed black cast wheels are fitted with 225/60 R 17 Yokohama Geolandar A/T all-terrain tires.

Geyser Blue is exclusive to the Wilderness range, but other colors can be selected from the palette common to all versions. The roof rails are rated for a maximum of 80kg of riding load and 317kg of static load.
