Tottenham lead the race for James Maddison as the England midfielder is increasingly likely to leave Leicester City this summer.
The 26-year-old Maddison has one full season left on his contract at King Power Stadium and there is reason to believe he could leave Leicester City this summer. after five seasons at the club, where he went from champion to full international.
Leicester recently posted a pre-tax loss of £92.5m for the 2021-22 season, citing the decision not to sell a first team player as being behind their financial performance. They have since sold Wesley Fofan to Chelsea and Maddison will cut his losses even further.
Spurs will also rebound this summer after the departure of Antonio Conte and Maddison is a long-term goal.
They are interested in bringing him in as a creative midfielder who can also play wide as he did for England during the international break when Gareth Southgate gave him his first start more than three years after his debut.

Premier League rivals and foreign clubs are likely to join the race for the player. Maddison arrived for £25m in 2018 from Norwich, who will receive a percentage of the profits made on departure.
Leicester will demand around £50m for Maddison, who is 15 months away from a free transfer but whose record and number of goals and assists are comparable to the likes of Mason Mount, who is in the same position at Chelsea.
Maddison has scored nine goals and six assists this season and captained the team several times in the absence of captain Johnny Evans and vice-captain Youri Tielemans.
There has been no breakthrough in Maddison's talks for a new deal with Leicester, meaning they risk being in a situation similar to that of Tielemans, whose contract has expired and will be available on a free contract in the summer if new terms are not will be agreed. .

Raya on the radar in La Liga
Brentford's David Raya was expected to take part in the end-of-campaign goalkeeping rotation when the top spot in the Premier League lands.
However, with his breakthrough into the Spanish national team, he is now in the spotlight of La Liga's biggest clubs in search of a free transfer at the end of next season, which could complicate his next decision.
The fight for relegation means that goalkeepers could be on the market when the transfer window opens in the summer. Tottenham are looking for a long-term successor to Hugo Lloris and David De Gea's future at Manchester United is yet to be decided.
