Sedan Omoda S5 will be offered in Russia with two engines to choose from

Our market will be the debut for the «four-door» sub-brand Chery. However, in some places such a car has been present for a long time — as a model of the parent company.

In China, Omoda is only a series of the Chery brand, which appeared last year. But in Russia (as well as in some other foreign markets), Omoda was turned into a separate brand. The original crossover became the firstborn, we call it C5 (in China — Chery Omoda 5). Now the second model is presented in the Russian Federation — the Omoda S5 sedan.

Unlike the SUV, the “four-door” is not a completely independent development of Omoda: new emblems and nameplates were hung on the Cherie model, which is called the Arrizo 5 Plus in its homeland, and outside the Celestial Empire is known as the Arrizo 6/Arrizo 6 Pro. By the way, in terms of design, our Omoda S5 repeated exactly the export version. In particular, the model for the Russian Federation has a similar grille and front bumper, while in China the “face” is designed differently (in general, Plus has two grille options in the home market).

The «eski» is based on the M1X platform. Front — independent suspension McPherson, rear — semi-independent, spring, with hydratelescopic shock absorbers. The length of the Russian sedan is 4644 mm, width — 1814 mm, height — 1493 mm, wheelbase — 2650 mm. The original Chery Arrizo 5 Plus is slightly lower, but in other dimensions it surpasses the model for the Russian Federation: 4680/1825/1490 mm, the distance between the axles is 2670 mm (for example, the Brazilian Arrizo 6 Pro generally coincides with the version for Russia). In the Russian market, Omoda S5 will be available with two petrol engines to choose from . The four-cylinder «aspirated» 1.5 with a capacity of 113 hp was appointed as the base. (138 Nm), such a motor is only for the initial version of Life. In the Tech and Ultra trim levels, the sedan is equipped with a 1.5 turbo four, delivering 147 hp. and 210 Nm. Both engines are combined with a variator, both can be «powered» by the AI-92.
