JAC held a presentation of the updated flagship pickup Hunter (aka Huantu) in China, simultaneously presented gasoline, diesel, plug-in hybrid and all-electric versions.
Hunter debuted in 2020 as the most expensive, flagship JAC pickup (Changan, by the way, also has a pickup with that name), its overall length is 5330 or 5620 mm, wheelbase — 3110 or 3400 mm, width — 1965 mm, height — 1920 mm or 1965 mm. The key dimensions of the JAC Hunter have not changed with the update, but there are quite a few changes in terms of design and technology.
The front end of the JAC Hunter has become even more aggressive: the trapezoidal grille has been replaced by a more massive rectangular one in a large cage. The layout of the “three-story” headlights has been slightly changed (the lower ones have moved from the bumper to the fenders and are visually combined with the middle ones with a black frame), the design of 18-inch rims has been updated. The stern design has not changed.

The interior architecture is the same, but the design of the front panel has also become more brutal: the air ducts along the edges have greatly increased in size, the decorative trims have become thicker, the electronic instrument panel and the vertical 10.4-inch multimedia screen have received updated graphics. The design of the central tunnel depends on the type of power plant.
Before restyling, the JAC Hunter was offered with a 2.4-liter gasoline (211 hp, 320 Nm) or 2.0-liter diesel engine (150 hp, 360 Nm) paired with a 6-speed «mechanics», drive — rear or full type part-time with a hard-wired rear axle and a reduction gear in the transfer case.
A more powerful gasoline 2.0-liter turbo engine (231 hp, 380 Nm) has been announced for the updated pickup truck ) and a new 2.0-liter diesel engine (170 hp, 410 Nm), both combined with an 8-speed hydromechanical “automatic”, the rear axle is equipped with a differential lock.

Battery capacity and reserve electric travel has not yet been disclosed.

The electric JAC Hunter EV is equipped with a 328-volt battery with a capacity of 88 kWh, fully charged enough for 417 km of run on the CLTC cycle. The power plant is twin-engine (one motor per axle): the front one produces a modest 36 kW (49 hp) and 95 Nm, the rear one — 150 kW (204 hp) and 295 Nm, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 9 p. The maximum speed of all versions of the JAC Hunter is limited to 150 km/h. Prices for the updated pickup have not yet been announced.
