An unusual and frankly pleasant event in Merseyside, where Liverpool ended their never-ending summer transfer saga while it's still spring.
Jude Bellingham, supposed savior of Jurgen Klopp's creaky midfield, is apparently not going to Anfield this summer as the club turned their attention to non-union English equivalents like Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher and Jonjo Shelvey. Perhaps not the last.
With a required transfer fee of at least £115m and a six-figure wage each week, there aren't dozens of clubs able to afford Bellingham, but his yellow appearances at Borussia Dortmund suggest he could easily fit into any of the elite teams in the world.
So where is the most wanted man in European football right now? Let's evaluate his options and evaluate how interested Bellingham are in starting next season with each of them.
Manchester City
There is no real need for Bellingham if the re-invention of John Stones as Barnsley's answer to Toni Kroos continues at its current pace, but Ilkay Gundogan appears set to leave at the end of this campaign and Bellingham seems like a better candidate to replace him than Calvin Phillips. . You may want to make an even bigger splash elsewhere than become a cog in Pep Guardiola's magnificent winning machine, but few clubs are better equipped to deliver trophies.
Jude Call: 8/10
Real Madrid
It looks like Bellingham already has a good supply with a good mix of youth in Aurélien Chuameni and Eduardo Camavinga, plus experience: Luka Modric, the real Toni Kroos. But logic and careful planning have not always been at the forefront of Real Madrid's transfer strategy. Perhaps Bellingham will eventually see itself where this next step becomes a premium stepping stone to the final destination of the Bernabeu.

Manchester United
The balance is likely bolstered by the return of the Champions League money next season and there is still a need for a versatile midfielder to share the load with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandez. The uneven form of Jadon Sancho, the latest gifted Englishman to join United from Dortmund, may give Bellingham some pause, but the team appears to be finally heading in the right direction under Eric Ten Hag. Uncertainty about ownership works against them.
Jude Appeal: 7/10
Paris Saint-Germain
I have never met a player on the list of the best that they did not like, so it is likely that they will play their part in the race. He may be in for a makeover as Lionel Messi's future is uncertain, Kylian Mbappe is finally flirting with Real Madrid and Neymar is heading in the wrong direction. They will have a more attractive financial package than most, perhaps all of their competitors. But he seems further away than ever from Champions League glory, and does Bellingham's heart sing with Ligue 1 prospect and away days against Lorient and Reims?
Jude's Message: 6/10< /strong>< /p>Chelsea
Players! More players! Bring the squad up to 70 people, and then, perhaps, we will be able to break into the European Conference League next season! Need a replacement for H'Golo Kante and they seem to be working like they checked their bank balance and all they saw was an infinity symbol. So it will probably be interesting, but whether Bellingham likes their perspective is another matter.

Arsenal
It's summer in the central midfield market, and Declan Rice is the name most often associated. Will Liverpool's withdrawal from the race for Bellingham make a difference? Probably not, given that Arsenal as a whole operate in similar financial parameters. That could change if a championship win brings new meaning to how inventive Edu and Mikel Arteta have been in recent years, but it is currently believed that they are not interested in this. A rare occasion when Bellingham can love a club more than the club loves him.
To Jude: 6/10
Borussia Dortmund
He has a contract, what would he not worth it until summer 2025, so I could happily stay another year with a team that still has a chance of beating Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga (stop giggling in the back). May choose to continue its rapid development in an environment where it clearly thrives and return to the market next summer.
Jude Appeal: 8/10
