The Japanese company is preparing to bring ten new electric vehicles to the market by 2027, with at least three of them coming in 2024.
The Chinese division of Honda has entered the era of electrification, the company recalled this as part of the presentation of new products at the booth at the Shanghai Motor Show. So, after 2027, all models manufactured by Honda in China will be either hybrids or electric vehicles. By the same date, it is planned to launch a dozen new completely “green” cars on the market. According to the plan, the Japanese brand will switch to the production of exclusively electric cars in 2035.
It is worth recalling that the Chinese market will become a priority for electric vehicles of the e:N series, which includes, in particular, the Honda e:NS1 and Honda e:NP1 (based on the HR-V). Sales of these models started in the Celestial Empire last year, and their production has been established at the facilities of joint ventures with Dongfeng and GAC, respectively. These cars have a few design differences, but are technically identical.

Late last month, Honda released the first teasers of a pair of new crossovers of the «green» series. The image showed two very similar coupe-shaped silhouettes, which differed from each other in the design of the front and rear. Now the company has officially declassified the prototypes of the future e:NS2 and e:NP2.

Obviously, these are the closest «relatives» of the Honda e:NS1 and e:NP1 that have already entered the Chinese market. It is known that the new e: NS2 and e: NP2 coupe-shaped crossovers, while presented in the status of prototypes, will enter the conveyors of the same joint ventures with Dongfeng and GAC in early 2024. The versions shown are already close to production, although it is possible that the side cameras will be replaced by traditional exterior mirrors.

Technical details of the Honda e:NS2 and e:NP2 have not yet been declassified. There is a possibility that they will share the “stuffing” with the e:NS1 and e:NP1 crossovers. Recall that they are offered one electric motor mounted on the front axle, while in the basic versions its output is 182 hp, and in more expensive options — 204 hp. The «younger» versions are offered a battery with a capacity of 53.6 kWh (when calculated according to the CLTC cycle, the cruising range without recharging is 420 km), the «senior» — 68.8 kWh (510 km).

This SUV with a more brutal design and a traditional body is also almost ready to be launched into the series, despite the same cameras instead of mirrors and the absence of door handles. The interior of the future cross is still hidden behind tightly tinted windows. The Chinese representative office of Honda said that the production of the model, according to the plan, will start within the next year. >Honda e:N GT Concept
The company also showed a concept, probably a sports sedan or liftback called the Honda e:N GT; so far there are no details about it. It is known that all the novelties of the «green» series will be equipped with modern security systems and driver's assistants, as well as Honda Connect technology, created on the basis of artificial intelligence.
In accordance with the previously announced global development strategy, Honda aims to bring thirty new electric models to the global market by 2030. The company decided to invest a total of five trillion yen in the «greening» of the line. According to the plan, the Japanese manufacturer will completely abandon internal combustion engines in its models by 2040.
