Kupeobrazny crossover Changan CD701 appeared on live photos

The four-seater electric show car has a minimalist interior and a two-tone exterior. There is no data on the technique yet.

Changan is one of the twenty largest manufacturers in China. Sales of the brand's cars have been growing over the past three years. So, in January-November 2022, dealers in the home market sold 949,810 cars of the brand, which is 1.6% more than in the same period of the previous year. By the way, Changan cars are officially delivered to the Russian Federation, today the local lineup has nine models in the SUV segment.

Changan CD701 concept

The brand continues to develop its model line: at the end of last summer, the manufacturer showed a show car of a coupe-like crossover with the CD701 index. Now this «live» concept was brought to the Shanghai Auto Show, and those present managed to see not only the details of the exterior, but also look into the interior.

Changan CD701 has a streamlined shape, a black roof, which smoothly passes into the glazing of the stern, and black A-pillars. In addition, the electric car has extended wheel arches made of unpainted plastic, as well as dark gray inserts at the front, on the sidewalls and at the stern. The place of the radiator grill was taken by a digital panel, which plays the role of a stub. This element visually merges with the head optics with «C-shaped» running lights, inside of which there are three luminous strokes. jpg» />The place of traditional exterior mirrors is occupied by small side cameras, the usual door handles are not observed. The concept received large rims, which were “shod” in low-profile rubber. The taillights are made in the form of an oval drawn with a thin luminous line, stretched across the entire width of the stern, on the sides it is separated by small strokes extending to the rear fenders.

The interior of the Changan CD701 is made in a minimalist style: only a “flattened” steering wheel and a large horizontal touchscreen of the infotainment system are visible from the front panel. The “virtual” tidy is not visible, it is possible that the projection display plays its role. The interior is decorated in bright colors with contrasting orange stitching. The crossover was based on the SDA modular platform. The car was promised various intelligent systems, driver assistants and the ability to control car functions using a smartphone, smart watch and voice. There is no information about the technology yet.

Officially, the company does not talk about the serial prospects of the coupe-like crossover, but it is possible that the model, which will be based on the Changan CD701 concept, will still get to the assembly line.

At the Shanghai Motor Show, a couple of concepts of their coupe crossovers were presented by the Japanese company Honda. The new e:NS2 and e:NP2 will go into production as early as 2024, and the twins will be produced at the facilities of joint ventures with Dongfeng and GAC, respectively.
