The Iranian company Saipa, which will soon enter the Russian market, introduced a radically updated Renault Logan of the first generation — now it is called Saipa Cadila.
Saipa was founded in the mid-60s and produced licensed Citroen models for the first ten years, then switched to Renault and other brands. In 2013, Saipa mastered the production of Renault Logan of the first generation on an official basis, that is, under license, in the Iranian market, the French sedan is known as Saipa Renault Pars Tondar. In 2018, the production of Renault Pars Tondar was stopped amid the tightening of economic sanctions against Iran by the United States — the French company simply stopped supplying the necessary components to Iran.
Saipa said in 2020 that it had localized more than 85% of the Renault Pars Tondar components, including the engine and gearbox, and that the French sedan would soon be back in production and sales, and with an updated design, developed with Iranian tastes in mind and without looking back. on the corporate identity of Renault.
Soon the fairy tale is told, but not soon the deed is done: the updated Renault Pars Tondar was presented in Iran only this week, its photos were published by the local automotive resource Khodro Bank, aka said that the novelty was named Saipa Cadila.

From the front, Logan in the Iranian “remix” is almost impossible to recognize: a new and rather aggressive-looking bumper with a protruding lower “lip”, a complex polygonal radiator grille, new headlights, a new hood with longitudinal ribs, and shortened front fenders. The stern, in turn, also received a more embossed bumper, new composite LED lights and a new trunk lid. Only when viewed in profile is the old Logan unmistakably recognizable, since the shape of the doors has not changed.

The salon of the “first” Logan experienced an “facelift” in the Iranian style: a new three-spoke steering wheel, a new instrument panel, a new microclimate unit, a new multimedia system with a touch screen and even new power window keys on the center console, but at the same time the old gearshift lever, old seats and door cards.
No information about the engine — probably the same what Renault Pars Tondar had: a 1.6-liter gasoline “aspirated” with a capacity of 105 hp. paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. There will also be a two-pedal version (most likely with a CVT), but later. There is no information about prices either, the official website of Saipa from Russia is not available.
In light of this that Saipa cars will soon arrive in Russia through two distributors at once, we can expect that after the models Quik, Saina and Shahin already announced for our market, Cadila will also catch up — since the original French model is well known to Russians, there will be no big problems with maintenance and spare parts should.
