The Swedish brand, owned by the Geely holding, showed only one exhibit at the Shanghai Motor Show — the top version of its flagship crossover.
The presentation of the large seven-seater «electrocrossover» Volvo EX90 took place in November last year. Recall that for some time it will be sold at the same time as the Volvo XC90 (with internal combustion engines), and this model is still waiting for an update. However, in the second half of this decade, the Swedish brand will phase out combustion engine models, leaving the EX90 without a current alternative.

Unlike the hybrid crossover, the novelty does not have an additional tinted glass partition that would separate the second-row seats from the luggage compartment space. Behind the seats in the lower part is a panel in which a small refrigerator is built in: it can be used to cool drinks.
There is an additional alcove between the second row seats with a minibar where two glasses are located, as well as a touchpad that allows users to control the functions of your seats. For passengers located at the back, an electric drive, heating, as well as five vibration massage modes are provided. The crystal insert in the center is a «button» for controlling the air freshener.

Volvo has moved away from natural leather for upholstery, so the Volvo EX90 Excellence is available with either eco-leather seating or seats upholstered in a special, high-quality fabric made from recycled plastic bottles and wool.
On the minimalistic front panel, a horizontal screen of the virtual “tidy” is visible, in the center there is a large touchscreen of the infotainment system (diagonal — 14.5 inches). The top version was equipped with a Bowers & Wilkins, as well as contour lighting. Note that the new “rich” version has practically no external differences from the “ordinary” Volvo EX90, except for a different original design of 22-inch wheels and a two-tone body color available for an extra charge.

Technique in the Excellence version is standard (as in the Twin Motor Performance version): the all-wheel drive “electric crossover” is equipped with a twin-engine power plant, the total output of which is 517 hp and the maximum torque is 910 Nm. The traction battery has a capacity of 111kWh and, based on China's CLTC cycle, has a range of 650km per charge.
