Founder Peter Fein said the private equity deal will «bring new blood and propel us forward over the next five years»
A British sustainable landscape entrepreneur whose clients include Queen's Parks is in line for a £40 million paycheck.
Peter Fane, 60, owns 21 percent of Nurture Landscaping Group, which just received an investment from private equity firm All Seas Capital in a deal valuing the business at approximately £200m.
As part of the deal, employees will see their shares valued at a total of £20m and they will receive an immediate payment of £7m.
Mr Fane's children are also the beneficial owners of approximately £30m of shares held in trust.
Nurture was founded by Fane in 2008 and today boasts annual sales of over £125m sterling with 1,850 employees.
The royal warrant company provides landscaping, pest control and other gardening services to customers, including Queen's Parks, the Department of Defense, Green King and Royal Mail.
This follows years of business deals — Mr. Fein, who is the executive chairman and has spent the last 15 years bringing together family horticultural businesses in Parenting.
The deal will see All Seas founders Cristobal Quart and Marc Ciancimino take seats on Nurture's board of directors.
Mr Fein is expected to remain as executive chairman, where he will focus on strategy and acquisitions.< /p>
He said, «The market is wide open for us to essentially build this business.
«So this deal is kind of a reset, allowing some people to get off the bus by borrowing some little money from the table, some people retire or partially retire, and for new blood to flow in and propel us forward over the next five years.”
He said the business is also looking to focus on further improving its environmental reputation by 2030 as well. will bring it to naught.
All Seas Capital's Mr. Ciancimino said his firm intends to invest in «established companies owned by founders and entrepreneurs that have reached some scale but could benefit from our support and capital.»
Mr. Fein previously owned and operated a landscaping company called Waterers Landscape with his brother Mark, owner of Crocus Garden Nursery.
They sold the company in 2003.
