The new Spanish brand, owned by the Volkswagen Group, will be produced in China. The model will enter the global market in 2024.
The Cupra brand separated from the parent company Seat at the beginning of 2018 (previously, the corresponding prefix was given to the “charged” versions of the Seats). The brand showed the Cupra Tavascan concept electric SUV back in September 2019 as part of the Frankfurt Motor Show, but its serial prospects were vague. In 2020, it became known that the crossover will reach the assembly line, but fans of the brand will have to wait. Now the manufacturer has officially declassified the commercial version of Cupra Tavascan.

The production version was named after the concept, the same proportions and similar design, albeit with a number of changes. At the bottom of the embossed hood there is an illuminated logo, under it is a matrix head optics of approximately the same shape, but with a pattern of three small triangles (in each headlight). The crossover with a coupe-shaped body received the original wheels, their size can vary from 19 to 21 inches. >
The interior of the serial SUV Cupra Tavascan is also similar to that of the show car of the same name. In front of the driver's eyes is a small trapezoidal display, which acts as a virtual «tidy». In the center of the front panel is a large (diagonal — 15 inches) touchscreen infotainment system. The place of the center console was taken by a jumper made of silvery plastic, on which you can find the «emergency gang» button. There are buttons on the steering wheel that allow you to switch driving modes.
The Cupra Tavascan is based on the Volkswagen MEB platform. The overall length of the SUV is 4644 mm, width — 1861 mm, height — 1597 mm, and the distance between the axles is 2766 mm. The closest “relatives” of the novelty are the Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback, Volkswagen ID.5 and Skoda Enyaq Coupe crossovers. «/>

So, the starting version has only one electric motor located on the rear axle, its return is 286 hp, and the maximum torque is 545 Nm. The top Tavascan was equipped with a twin-engine power plant, which consists of the same engine at the rear, and a 109-horsepower electric motor is located on the front axle; the total power of such a system is 340 hp.
