Evan Ferguson spurns transfer interest in signing new Brighton deal

Brighton striker Evan Ferguson has agreed a new long-term contract at the Amex Stadium.

The 18-year-old Ireland international has come under the radar of Premier League rivals after how Roberto De Zerbi broke into the team in the second half of the season and scored seven goals, making him one of the most sought-after teenagers in Europe.

Ferguson had three years left on his current contract, but terms for an extension were agreed to reward his progress in recent months. He is expected to remain at Brighton next season where he will compete for a spot in the first team and continue his meteoric rise.

His first long-term professional contract was signed in October when he turned 18, postponing him in 2026. At the time, De Zerby said he could see Ferguson's quality after only a short time with him. He became the club's youngest player in the Premier League when he made his debut in the competition.
