The Alfa Romeo brand belongs to the auto giant Stellantis, the main task that was set for it «from above» is to become profitable. To this end, the manufacturer shook up the model line, promising new items in one of the most popular segments at present — SUV. So, last year the Alfa Romeo Tonale crossover debuted, and in the relatively near future, another SUV should appear, it will be based on the same STLA Small platform as the Jeep Avenger.

A few years ago, it was reported that Alfa Romeo would replace its MiTo compact hatchback with a crossover. Now there are no “three-doors” in the brand line, it left the assembly line in 2018. It is assumed that the new SUV in the lineup of the Italian brand will indeed appear next year; theoretically, it can be given a familiar name, although there is no confirmation of this yet. By the way, earlier there were rumors that the new compact SUV would be named Brennero, but later the company representatives denied them. » />
There is no official information about what the new Alfa Romeo crossover in the B-SUV segment will look like yet. The designer of the Spanish publication Motor.es shared his version of the exterior of the future novelty. Judging by the image, the compact crossover will receive an appearance in the current corporate style of the brand.
The car in the render has a long sloping hood, a family triangular grille, as well as a large air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper. The headlight pattern, like the Alfa Romeo Tonale, has three luminous elements, but the novelty has them in the form of boomerangs rather than semicircles.
Another future SUV can get a body kit around the perimeter of the body made of unpainted plastic, rear door handles hidden in the roof racks, a traditional roof with small roof rails, “regular” side mirrors with “turn signal” repeaters, as well as a small spoiler on the top of the tailgate. It is assumed that the overall length will be a little more than 4.2 meters.
There is no information about the interior of the novelty yet. It is assumed that it will be designed by analogy with current Alfa Romeo models. This means that on the front panel in front of the driver’s eyes there will probably be a small display under the visor, which plays the role of a virtual “tidy”, moreover, with a design for an analog instrument panel. In the center, obviously, a separate touchscreen of a modern multimedia system will be placed.

It is expected that the model will have variants with different hybrid installations and an all-electric version. Most likely, he will receive the “stuffing”, like the Jeep Avenger. So, at the heart of the mild hybrid system is a 136-horsepower 1.2-liter gasoline engine, which works in tandem with a 48-volt “electric addition”. In addition, the new Alfa Romeo can get a similar “green” technology: we are talking about a 156-horsepower electric motor on the front axle and a 54 kWh traction battery.
More detailed information, and Alfa Romeo also promised to reveal the name of the novelty before the end of this year. It is expected that such a model will replenish the brand line in June 2024.
