Founded by French race car driver Bruno Laffite, young Italian company Laffite Automobili wants to make it big in the luxury car market with three electric supercars – Atrax, LM1 and Barchetta.
Bruno Laffitte is the nephew of Jacques Lafitte, a famous French Formula 1 driver who competed in the 70s and 80s of the last century for the Ligier and Williams teams, he has six Grand Prix victories to his credit. Bruno also raced open-wheel cars in his youth, and then went into the auto business. In the middle of the last decade, Bruno Laffite had a hand in the creation of the Arab company Zarooq Motors, and in 2017, together with his wife Letizia, he founded his own company Laffite Supercars in the USA. Alas, both projects were not very successful, and now the third attempt is the Italian company Laffite Automobili, headquartered in Turin.
The main investor of the new Lafitte project was the entrepreneur Pascal Cohen, L.M. is responsible for engineering. Gianetti is a well-known Italian manufacturer of racing cars in the world of motorsport, and the design of the new Laffite models is at the mercy of GFG Style, which was founded in 2015 by father and son Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro after parting with Italdesign. The announced Laffite models, even though they look different, have unified technology, electronics and some interior components. All models are rear-wheel drive, all have a carbon-fiber monocoque body and a push-rod suspension with double wishbones in a circle.

One of the three new Laffite models is an evolution of GFG Style's 2020 Bandini Dora concept, now called the Laffite Barchetta. The production model retained the main “chips” of the concept – soaring side arches and a wedge-shaped profile. The Barchetta will have three versions – open with a common or divided cockpit and a coupe with a carbon fiber cap covering the cockpit divided in two. The power plant is the same for all versions: the electric motor produces a maximum of 430 kW (585 hp) and 990 Nm, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.5 s, top speed is 320 km/h. Battery capacity is not specified, but a range of 390 km is promised on a single charge. Curb weight – 1700 kg.

Laffite LM1 is, in fact, a racing car adapted for public roads, its overall length is 5200 mm, width is 2000 mm, height is 1050 mm, wheelbase is 3150 mm. The maximum output of the power plant is 858 kW (1167 hp) and 1600 Nm, the curb weight is 1650 kg, the cruising range on a single charge is 410 km. The first “hundred” Laffite LM1 is gaining in just 1.98 seconds, the maximum speed is 350 km/h.

The cross-coupe accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h.
