Flexible banana bureaucracy will remain on the UK statute book after ministers abandoned plans to repeal all EU laws by the end of the year.

European regulation saying fruit should not have defects or abnormal curvature of the fingers” was not included in the list of about 600 laws that must be repealed in the near future.

The government has committed to repeal all EU rules still in the legal code by the end of 2023 of the year. .

But Kemi Badenoch, secretary of business and trade, said on Wednesday it was impossible to move ahead with the plans due to Whitehall's intransigence.

Jacob Rees-Mogg, cabinet minister in charge of reform under Boris Johnson, accused ministers of momentum and said the “drop” had triumphed.

Priity Patel, former home secretary, said it was “clear” that the ministers were not looking to fulfill the will of the British people when they voted that Mr. Mr. Johnson held Brexit in 2019.

She told The Telegraph: “What is becoming clear is that this government is not committed to implementing the Brexit that the British people voted for in 2019.” Johnson during the Brexit campaign – were drawn up by the European Commission almost three decades ago, in 1994, and codified in 2011.

They argue that, in general, fruits should be at least “free from malformation or abnormal curvature fingers.

According to the regulation, “Extra” grade bananas must be “free of defects”, Class 1 bananas may have “minor shape defects”, and Class 2 bananas may have “shape defects”.

The government has published a list of nearly 600 of bills that will soon be repealed under the EU Retention Law (REUL) bill.

It states that 500 will be repealed under other legislation, and that 1000 laws have already been repealed or changed.< /p>

But that means far less than half of the promised 4,800 laws will be repealed by the end of 2023.

The declining positions infuriated Brexit Tory supporters: on Wednesday, 20 bench defenders faced Simon Hart, the head whip. to voice their concern.

    590 Chops Rules

A telegraphic analysis of the REUL bill revealed that some 590 rules and regulations are for chops after officials felt they could be repealed without any devastating consequences.

At least six laws concern decisions allowing the placement of carnations on the EU market and in particular in the Netherlands.

Two of them concern Japanese carnations that have been genetically modified. for the color of the flower and are dated November 2016.

Roughly 176 laws deal with fish and fisheries, which is not surprising since the UK withdrew from the EU Common Fisheries Policy after Brexit.

Only nine of these specifically relate to tuna, including the lifting in 2014 of the EU import ban on Atlantic bigeye tuna from Bolivia, Cambodia and Equatorial Guinea.
