The German brand's new electric trolley will debut in 2026.
Mercedes-Benz has been producing the V-Class since 1996, since then the model has changed three generations, the current van (the van is called Vito) entered the market back in 2014. The model went through a restyling at the beginning of 2019, and in the summer of the same year, a production version of the fully electric version was also presented under its own name EQV (the name of the van is e-Vito). Now commercial vehicles are getting ready for the next scheduled update — they will be shown next summer.

It is assumed that Mercedes-Benz vans will receive a different exterior design during restyling, as well as a refreshed interior with a modern version of the MBUX infotainment system. The company has so far published only one teaser of the updated V-Class: the picture shows the front of the future novelty. Teaser of the updated Mercedes-Benz V-Class
Judging by the image, the updated van will receive a noticeably enlarged radiator grille, revised LED head optics, as well as a new front bumper with air intakes designed in the style of AMG versions. It is expected that in the cabin on the front panel there will be two large displays of the MBUX multimedia complex. The restyling will allow the V-Class to become closer in style to the current Mercedes-Benz passenger car lineup.
Another German manufacturer has announced a new Van.EA electric modular platform, which is designed for light commercial vehicles. The company said that it will debut in 2026. The basic versions of these «green» vans will have front-wheel drive, while they will optionally offer a twin-engine power plant (another electric motor located on the rear axle will enter the system).
There are practically no details about the «stuffing» yet. It is known that the models will be offered different traction batteries, but their capacity was not made public in the company. Mercedes-Benz only promised that the volume of batteries will become smaller, while the range indicators of vans will be higher. According to preliminary calculations, passenger business vans on the Van.EA-P «trolley» version will have a range of about 500 km on a single charge.
It is known that the new electric «trolley» will form the basis of passenger business vans, their role today is played by the mentioned Mercedes-Benz V-class and EQV; as well as cargo vans, that is, analogues of Vito and Sprinter commercial vehicles. The company has not yet specified which model will be the first to “try on” the new platform in 2026.
According to the development strategy of Mercedes-Benz, electric vehicles should account for more than 50% by 2030 (for 2026, the bar is set at 20%). «Green» vans on the new platform will be produced at factories in Poland, Spain and Germany.
