Updated Audi A5 Sportback drove on camera again

According to preliminary data, the restyled liftback of the German brand will be presented in 2024.

Audi began production of the A5 coupe, convertible and liftback in 2007, and the current second-generation versions hit the assembly line in 2017. There is no talk about changing the generation of the speech model, however, a restyled version is already in development. The test mule of the refreshed Audi A5 Sportback has previously been caught by photo spies, and now the future novelty has again been driven on camera.

This time, the camouflaged prototype drove on public roads in southern Europe. A fresh batch of shots of the refreshed A5 Sportback was shared with us by the Spanish edition of Motor.es. The camouflage film still covers a large part of the exterior details, but some elements are still visible.

It is assumed that the exterior of the updated liftback will be designed in accordance with the style that Audi adheres to when developing its recent and future models. It is expected that during the restyling of the A5 Sportback it will become larger: it will probably “grow up” in length and wheelbase (by how much is not yet specified).

The pictures show a radiator grille with a pattern in the form of large honeycombs, which was left with the signature hexagon shape, but at the same time it was made a little shorter, which made it look more elongated in the horizontal plane. The head optics will probably have a different shape and a new «stuffing». A different central air intake is visible at the bottom of the front bumper.The stern is still hidden under a dense disguise, but the location and shape of the exhaust pipes, apparently, have remained the same. By the way, earlier we published a render of the updated Audi A5 Sportback: according to it, the liftback will probably have thinner and smoother lights; they will be connected by a plate tapering in the center, while the rear optics will most likely have a different pattern. » />

The photo spies have not yet been able to look into the interior of the refreshed A5 Sportback. Presumably the updated liftback will receive a new virtual instrument panel, a different front panel, as well as an upgraded infotainment system with a large touchscreen. jpg» />

According to preliminary data, petrol and diesel engines will remain in the range, which will work in tandem with a 48-volt starter-generator; as well as rechargeable hybrids. The restyled Audi A5 Sportback is likely to be introduced in the second half of 2024, and live sales in the European market may begin in early 2025.
