The new Ford Ranger, which recently entered the American market, is tipped to compete with this mid-size pickup truck of the Japanese brand.
< p> Toyota has been producing Tacoma since 1995, while the third-generation pickup truck debuted back in 2015, it was restyled in 2020. Until recently, the Japanese manufacturer continued to tease fans of the model with various teasers of the fourth generation model, earlier patent images of the truck appeared on the Web, and now the new Tacoma has finally been officially declassified completely.

The fourth generation Toyota Tacoma received an exterior designed in the style of its “big brother” – a full-size Tundra pickup truck (the presentation of its current version took place in the fall of 2021). At the same time, the new mid-size truck looks more restrained due to a similar but smaller grille, as well as a narrower head optics. There are integrated spoilers on the roof and stern. In addition, the Tacoma also has special openings on the roof, which, if necessary, allow you to easily install an additional rack. >
The new Tacoma will be introduced to the US market in eight versions, including an off-road version – Trailhunter. The pickup truck will retain the Extended (XtraCab) and Crew Cab configurations with a double cab, as well as modifications with a cargo area of different lengths. It's worth noting that many mid-size pickup manufacturers have reduced the number of options to make them cheaper, but not all customers have been happy with this.

The interior of the novelty is also largely borrowed from the current Tundra. For simpler versions, the virtual “tidy” has a diagonal of 7 inches, for richer versions – 12.3 inches. As a touchscreen infotainment system, screens with a diagonal of 8 and 14 inches are provided. The model also received rubberized grips throughout the cabin, a device for wireless charging of smartphones, as well as many ports with a USB-C connector. The top variant has heated and ventilated front seats, a digital interior rear-view mirror, a 10-speaker JBL sound system and a sunroof.

At the heart of the next generation Toyota Tacoma is the TNGA-F modular platform, which is also based on the larger Tundra and Sequoia. During the change of generation, the pickup truck changed the engine range: now the base is a four-cylinder turbo engine with a volume of 2.4 liters. In the starting version, it produces 231 hp. and 329 Nm of torque. In a couple of this version, only an eight-speed “automatic” is offered.
In medium versions, the i-Force engine can be equipped with both a six-speed mechanics and an 8-speed automatic transmission. In the first case, the power is 274 hp. (420 Nm), in the second – 282 hp. (429 Nm).
Another model is available with the i-Force Max hybrid power plant, which is based on A 2.4-liter turbo engine that works in tandem with an electric motor integrated into an eight-speed automatic transmission. The system also includes a battery with a capacity of 1.87 kWh. The total output is 331 hp, and the maximum torque is 630 Nm. By the way, the “off-road” version of the Trailhunter is also equipped with this option. on sale in the US market later this year, however, versions with a hybrid “stuffing” will have to wait until the spring of 2024. The cost of the fourth generation Toyota Tacoma will be known later, closer to the start of sales. The starting price of the current Tacoma is $28,250.
