Next-gen Peugeot 3008 prepares to debut: new image

The novelty of the French brand will be presented in September, production will begin before the end of the year, and the first deliveries to dealers are scheduled for the first quarter of 2024 .

The compact SUV Peugeot 3008 appeared in the line of the French brand in 2008. The second generation model debuted in 2016, the premiere was held as part of the Paris Motor Show. The crossover survived a planned restyling in 2020. Now the manufacturer continues to develop the third generation 3008: the prototype of the novelty has already been caught in the lenses of photo spies. 3008Note that the next generation Peugeot 3008 will also have an all-electric version, which will receive its own name – e-3008. By the way, in mid-February this year, we published a render of this “green” novelty. It is assumed that it will have a number of differences from the “regular” crossover with internal combustion engines. At the end of last year, the designer Kolesa.ru suggested how the new “three thousand and eighth” might look like. Now the artist of the Spanish publication Motor.es decided to share his vision of the exterior of the SUV.According to the new render, the crossover will get narrower-shaped headlights with a pattern in the form of three LED strips. They can be complemented by three thin parallel lines (“claws”) of daytime running lights located lower on each side. Between them is a radiator grill, the central part of which has a pattern of thin horizontal lines with larger strokes, and there are mesh “deaf” inserts on the sides.

Judging by the image, the air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper will be visually divided in two. Even the new SUV was painted with black roof pillars, the same color of the side mirror housings, traditional door handles and a body kit around the perimeter of the body made of unpainted plastic. Of course, the car will have a new version of the logo: remember, it is made in the form of a lion's head.

The next generation Peugeot 3008 is expected to have a new interior that includes a large curved display that doubles as the i-Cockpit 3.0 digital instrument cluster. In the center, obviously, there will be a touchscreen of a modern infotainment system.

According to preliminary data, the third generation Peugeot 3008 in the European market will be offered with petrol engine 1.2 PureTech, which will work as part of a “mild hybrid” power plant. It is also assumed that this crossover will have a PHEV variant in the range, which will be able to drive about 100 km on pure electric traction. Recall that the e-3008 will probably have versions with both a single electric motor located on the front axle and with a twin-engine power plant.

According to the Spanish edition, the novelty of the French brand will be presented in September of this year, production will begin before the end of 2023, and the first deliveries to dealers are scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.
