The local assets of the German automaker were transferred to the Avtodom Group of Companies. The closing of the corresponding transaction became known at the end of last month.
GK Avtodom acquired the Russian business of Mercedes-Benz after the head office decided to leave the Russian car market. As a result, the holding acquired the official distributor in the Russian Federation, Mercedes-Benz Rus JSC, the Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Rus plant located in the Moscow region, Mercedes-Benz Bank Rus, the leasing subsidiary Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Rus and a company that was engaged in leasing, factoring and insurance of cars – Mercedes-Benz Capital Rus.
As Kolesa.ru reported earlier, Avtodom has the right to carry out maintenance of Mercedes-Benz vehicles sold on the Russian market, including warranty and post-warranty support. Also, the holding can resume the work of local companies and the shipment of spare parts from the central warehouse.
Now, after the completion of the transaction for the transfer of shares and shares of Mercedes-Benz to Avtodom, Mercedes-Benz Rus JSC announces rebranding: the new name is MB RUS JSC. The company explained that the corresponding changes will affect all “visual elements of the brand, website and corporate identity.” The representative office promised to maintain the same level of customer service.
MB RUS will continue to provide sales, after-sales service and warranty support for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles. The company explained that the main focus of work will be the service of Mercedez-Benz products, but in the future it is expected to develop cooperation with other automakers.
It is known that after the rebranding, the company will continue to work with partners of the retail network of Mercedes-Benz Rus JSC, resuming the supply of cars, spare parts, as well as service services for cars and commercial vehicles. In addition, MB RUS noted that the status of the exclusive distributor of the Forland brand, about which we wrote in more detail earlier, will help expand its presence in the FRFR market of orthoororpRF.
Recall that the Avtodom Group of Companies plans to restart the former Mercedes-Benz plant, which is located in the Esipovo industrial park (Moscow Region). The production of E-Class sedans, GLE, GLC and GLS crossovers was launched here. There is no information about what machines this enterprise will now produce. According to preliminary information, cars of the Chinese luxury brand Hongqi (pronounced “hunts”, translated as “red banner”), owned by the FAW concern, may appear on the assembly line of the Russian site.
By the way, the Hongqi brand at the end last month officially announced its entry into the Russian market. LLC FAV-Eastern Europe (Russian subsidiary of FAW) became the exclusive distributor of the brand's products. At the start of sales in the Russian Federation, four models will be presented, we are talking about the “traditional” HS5 crossover, the E-HS9 electric SUV, as well as a pair of sedans – the H5 and H9.
