Kim Cattrall to return in 'Sex and the City' spin-off, but there's one twist

She was the most outrageous of all the Sex and the City characters, but Samantha Jones was notably absent from the spin-off of And Just So.

Despite rumors of a longstanding rift between the show's lead actresses, Kim Cattrall is expected to make a surprise return in a new series.

Catrall, who plays Samantha, has long been suspected of being incarcerated. a feud with Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays Carrie Bradshaw.

Samantha was thought to have completely disappeared from the franchise after Cattrall promised not to reprise her role in future Sex and the City projects.

However, the actress will now reportedly appear in the second season of And Just So, which will air on June 22, after filming the scene without Jessica Parker.

American trade magazine Variety reported that her cameo featured Samantha talking on the phone with Carrie during a filming in which the stars are not supposed to interact with each other.

The New York Post reported that Cattrall's inclusion in the project was kept under wraps, and even those on set didn't know she would show up, especially because «she said she would never do it.»
