Conviction will require evidence beyond reasonable doubt, but Professor Chavis thought the prosecutors wouldn't have filed serious charges if he hadn't been sure of a guilty verdict.
“They are ethically obligated not to bring any cases they don't believe in. this can prove beyond any reasonable doubt. But whether the evidence supports this, we will have to wait and see,” she continued.
“Looking at the indictment, it’s hard to say, but it seems that this is a strong case.”

The challenge, however, was to prove that these stories were covered up to help the Trump campaign.
Trump supporters accused Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney, of reviewing these offenses as criminal offences. not misconduct for political purposes.
But Professor Chavis disagreed: “I have to say that there is precedent in New York State for such prosecutions. There are at least a few others who have been prosecuted on similar charges.»
One option for the Trump team could be a deal with the investigation, as happens in the vast majority of criminal cases.
< p>But Professor Chavis felt that this was unlikely to happen.
“It is unlikely that he will accept this application, and I think that we will most likely see the court. In this case, as long as the district attorney's office intends to insist on it. I think we'll see Donald Trump press that as well.»
