The mid-sized Kia Stinger fastback was introduced in 2017. Series production abruptly ended in April of this year, when Kia announced the electric SUV EV6 GT – spiritual successor to the Stinger GT trim with a V6 and twin turbo.
In 2022, back in October, it became known that an electric sedan was in the works. No other details were disclosed. In June 2023, GT1 was revealed to be the project's code name. The electric sedan, due to arrive between late 2025 and early 2026, is believed to boast a twin-engine powertrain on an all-new bogie. These motors produce over 600 hp. power split between the front and rear axles.
According to SPEEDME.RU, based on the architecture of the eM vehicle, this electric car will be able to travel from 700 to 800 km with a fully charged battery with a capacity of 113, 2 kWh. That range seems to be measured by the World Harmonized Passenger Car Test Procedure currently being applied by South Korea.
Real test is known to start this September. The GT1 car will allegedly be sold with two more powertrain options.
