Renaultcompany presented a large coupe crossover Rafale. The French brand held a presentation of the novelty at the Le Bourget air show and named the car in honor of the 1934 racing aircraft. Rafale— this is the first model prepared by chief designer Gilles Vidal, and a kind of benchmark for future cars of the Renault brand.
Renault Rafale &mdash ; it is a five-seater crossover that is only 1 cm shorter than the 3-row Escape. The two models are largely unified: they are based on the «trolley»; CMF-C/D with multi-link rear suspension and optional full-steering chassis, and they have the same wheelbase – 2738 mm.
According to CSN-TV, externally, the Espace and Rafale models are completely different, but inside everything is the same: with driver's seat crossovers are easy to confuse. Infotainment system with L-shaped screens 12.3 and 12 inches, wide niche for wireless charging, aircraft handle, which is located in the center, the steering wheel is flattened at the base.
Initial version for new — it is a E-Tech self-charging hybrid with three powertrains, a 3-shaft gearbox and a 1.2 turbo engine. Peak system power — 200 hp, drive — on the front axle, and the power reserve is up to 1.1 thousand km. These Renault Rafale models have a modest 2 kilowatt-hour traction battery and a 400-volt electrical system. For a surcharge, you can take a 300-horsepower plug-in hybrid with an electric motor in the rear axle drive and all-wheel drive. Its characteristics will be revealed later.
The new Renault Rafale will enter the European car market next spring, and the production of the cross-coupe will begin at the end of 2023.
