    The investigation shows that many nursing homes are empty despite the fact that there are 37,000 people on the waiting list.

    Nearly 100 nursing homes across the country An investigation revealed that 37,000 people were simply empty or were repurposed, despite the fact that 37,000 people were waiting for treatment.

    Nursing homes are not fit for purpose

    In North Northamptonshire, the council is in the process of decommissioning a nursing home after it decided the home was also not fit for purpose.     The Liberal Democrats called on a fund for advice to renovate and refurbish suitable nursing homes.
