Chevrolet Montana pickup truck based on Tracker: “warmed up” version of RS spotted

A special truck will premiere in July, although the amount of improvements is already clear: the new version differs from the original model only in decor.

Chevrolet Brazil has announced the expansion of the «sporty» RS line. The company accompanied its release with a single teaser, but the model name has not yet been announced. However, it’s clear that the “warmed up” version will receive a new generation Chevrolet Montana pickup truck. In Brazil, such a truck will join the “charged” Cruze RS and Onix RS hatches, Tracker RS ​​and Equinox RS SUVs.

p>Recall that the fresh Montana debuted at the end of last year, in the new generation it has turned from a small two-door truck a la commercial Lada Granta into a full-fledged “passenger” pickup truck with a four-door cab. The Chevy Tracker SUV mentioned above became the donor for the model, while the pickup has an original exterior and interior design. But back to the upcoming «sporty» variant.

The amount of improvements is the same as the rest of Chevy's Eresok. So, on the Montana RS teaser, a radiator grille with large “honeycombs” instead of horizontal stripes and a blackened brand emblem are visible. The bumpers will also be retouched, in addition, the roof and exterior mirror housings can be painted black. Well, red stitching will certainly appear in the cabin.

Most likely, there will be no technical updates. The standard Chevrolet Montana pickup truck in Brazil is available with a 1.2 turbo engine, which “eats” both gasoline and ethanol common in this country: in the first case, the engine produces 132 hp. and 190 Nm, in the second — 133 hp. and 210 Nm.
