No surprise: Fiat Titano frame pickup inside repeated the original Peugeot Landtrek

Outwardly, the model of the Italian brand is also almost the same as the «Frenchman». The new Fiat will enter the market before the end of this year.

Fiat officially announced the frame pickup at the end of last year by posting a photo of a disguised prototype. The first teasers appeared in May, at the same time the name of the model was announced — Titano. Well, now the brand has illuminated the interior. Recall that the upcoming truck has so far been announced only for Brazil, and it is not the original Fiat — it is a clone of the Peugeot Landtrek. The last one in service since 2020, the «Frenchman» is represented in Africa and Latin America (but not in Brazil). Moreover, Landtrek, in turn, is made together with the Chinese Changan, and it has siblings: Kaicene F70 (aka Changan Hunter in export markets) and Changan Lantop (in Russia it is Changan Hunter Plus).

The external differences between the Fiat Titano and the original Peugeot were reduced to a different grille, emblems and nameplates. Inside, the new Fiat completely repeats the donor word for word — only the logo has been replaced. Like the Landtrek, the Italian brand model has leather upholstery, a large-screen multimedia system, all-round cameras, a rear differential lock, and a descent assist system.

Peugeot Landtrek is available with a single-row or four-door cab, in addition it is available as a chassis with a cab for the installation of superstructures. But Titano may well be offered exclusively in a two-row version. The length of a similar «Frenchman» is 5330 mm, its cargo area is 1630 mm, the wheelbase is 3180 mm. The carrying capacity of the Landtrek is from 1 to 1.2 tons, depending on the version.

The brand has not yet told about the equipment. Brazilian specialized media tipped Titano 2.2 turbodiesel from Fiat Ducato. The Peugeot Landtrek engine range includes a 1.9 turbodiesel (150 hp, 350 Nm) and a 2.4 petrol turbo four (210 hp, 320 Nm), boxes — six-speed «mechanics» or «automatic». Rear wheel drive or all wheel drive.

Fiat Titano should make a full premiere in the near future. There is no word yet on the company's plans to sell the pickup outside the Brazilian market.
