The company has also confirmed that the pickup will get a new engine. A full-fledged premiere of the model will be held in July.
The harbinger of the sixth generation L200 truck — the XRT concept — was demonstrated by Mitsubishi back in March. A week ago, the first teasers of the production version appeared, at the same time the company revealed the date and place of the world premiere: the new pickup truck will be presented on July 26 in the production homeland, that is, in Thailand, where the model is called Triton. And here is published fresh footage with a freight truck.

According to preliminary data, the «sixth» Mitsubishi L200 is built on a new frame platform, while the model has retained a continuous rear axle. The pickup truck was left with a two-tier head optics, but the strips of running lights have become narrower, while the main headlights now consist of three LED sections. The L200 also got a rectangular radiator grille in a massive frame.Salon we saw on previous teasers. Inside, they installed a multimedia system with a large display that rises above the front panel. The side air deflectors were made vertical. Well, the L200s could also do a virtual tidy.
Mitsubishi Thailand has confirmed that the truck has received a new engine. As noted in the company, the engine has «high performance», but «with less fuel consumption.» The manufacturer did not provide other details. It is assumed that the «sixth» Mitsubishi L200 was equipped with a turbodiesel with a factory index 4N16: such an engine is now installed on the Nissan Caravan minibus, its working volume is 2439 cubic centimeters instead of 2442 for the current 4N15 diesel.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi's global office issued a separate press release today mentioning the new pickup, along with a photo of the car in disguise. The company-backed Mitsubishi Ralliart team will reportedly take part in the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) in pre-production L200/Triton prototypes. The rally will start in Thailand on August 13, and the route will be approximately 2,000 km long. The release notes that the pickups have already passed «rigorous endurance tests.» new generation rally ready 3/7 New generation pre-production Mitsubishi L200 rally ready 4/7 New generation pre-production Mitsubishi L200 rally ready 5/7 New generation pre-production L200 rally ready 6/7 New generation pre-production Mitsubishi L200 , prepared for the rally 7/7
Recall that in the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, it is Mitsubishi that is responsible for the creation of frame cars. This means that the next Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan trucks will be clones of the upcoming L200.
