Kia continues to test the next-generation four-door golf class: fresh footage was taken in its native Korea, a video with a disguised prototype was posted on the local Woopa TV YouTube channel. Recall that in the home market and in China, the model carries the K3 index, in North America it is Forte, but in Russia it is known as Cerato. The predecessor has been in service since 2018, the sedan survived the restyling in 2021. By the way, a hatchback is still available in some countries, but it is not yet known whether the five-door will remain.

The new Kia Cerato will have a catchy appearance. We are gradually getting used to the “fanged” optics, many of the latest models of the brand have such lighting equipment: among them, for example, the upgraded Picanto compact and the EV9 electrocross, and even the Seltos after restyling found taillights with vertical blocks. At the same time, Cerato will also get its own trick — the rear door handles will not be in their usual place, but on top, like some hatchbacks and crossovers from other brands. In addition, the Kia model will have a fastback silhouette and unusual windows in the C-pillars.

There is no data on the engines of the new K3/Forte/Cerato either. The current sedan in the homeland of the brand is available with a 1.6 petrol aspirator and a CVT, the hatchback is equipped with a 1.6 T-GDI turbo four and a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. In some markets, the range also includes a two-liter naturally aspirated engine.
