The investigation is being led by Special Counsel Jack Smith, who has already filed charges against Trump. because he worked with classified documents after leaving the White House.
Trump, the top contender for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, said the investigation was a «witch hunt» that was «the complete and total political weapon of law enforcement.»
Georgian state prosecutors are conducting a separate investigation into Trump's attempts to reverse his defeat in the state. Within weeks, he could be charged in this case.
In his post, Trump added: «Now they have effectively charged me three times…and probably the fourth one from Atlanta.»
