The service campaign will affect 79.5 thousand Granta, Niva Travel and Niva Legend, which were produced between October last year and February this year.
Russian automakers last year months went into a forced downtime: they could not produce cars due to a lack of components. Companies (in particular, AvtoVAZ) managed to partially resume the production of cars after legislators softened the requirements for manufactured products. As a result, “understaffed” by the old standards of the Lada left the assembly line for some time.

So, in the period from October 2022 to February 2023, the plant produced several so-called simplified models — without in-vehicle emergency call devices (that is, without ERA-GLONASS units). The list includes sedans, liftbacks and cross-universal Lada Granta, as well as SUVs Niva Travel and Niva Legend. In total, AVTOVAZ produced 79.5 thousand of these vehicles.

AvtoVAZ managed to return to the production of Lada Granta (and subsequently other models of the brand) after the legislators softened the requirements for cars produced in the Russian Federation. Now the norms from the pre-crisis edition of the technical regulations are gradually returning. So, in the future, for all models subject to certification, the presence of an anti-lock braking system (ABS) will again become mandatory. The plan is to return all previous requirements by February 1, 2024.

Now the Russian manufacturer has announced the start of a service campaign: owners of cars that fall under its terms can sign up for a service with the official dealer of the brand in order to equip the car with the appropriate device (it will make it possible, if necessary, to manually call emergency operational services). The production of these systems was launched on a new line of the Itelma research and production enterprise, which is located in Kostroma. According to the first time, the annual production of ABS and ESP at this site will be approximately 850 thousand units; plans to further increase this figure to 1.2 million units. in year. The company intends to fully «close the demand» of Russian automakers.
