21 to 23 July, the 4th stage of the Russian Rallycross Championship was held at the Igora Drive Autodrom. The stage was numerous. More than 60 athletes from all over the country came to the Leningrad region to show their skills and compete for the title of the best at the stage.
It became clear from the first qualifying races that the competition would be especially bright.
The Igora Drive track is one of the most difficult of the season. There are complex turns, elevation changes, and a difficult “joker”. Therefore, the pilots showed their maximum skill, fighting for every second on the lap.
There were some extreme moments too: flips, crashes off the track, contact struggle. The judges closely monitored each violation and evaluated the pilots not only by the time of the races, but also by the observance of the rules.
It was difficult for the audience to tear themselves away from what was happening on the track. After all, the leaders of the races were replaced almost from circle to circle. Stage 4 turned out to be so intense. It was especially interesting to watch the races of the most numerous class — National, and how the young pilots fought in the D2-Junior class, for many of whom the competitions on the Igora Drive track were held for the first time this year.
In addition, for the first time in the season at the Igora Drive Autodrom, cross-car class pilots took part in the competition in the support race format: powerful buggies, which, most likely, will become full-fledged participants in the Russian Rallycross Championship next year. d2eef7fc.jpg» />
