Sir Keir Starmer's popularity among Red Wall supporters has fallen to its lowest level since September.

A new poll by Redfield and Wilton Strategies found 34% of voters. in key places approved of the Labor leader's work, while the same percentage said they disapproved, giving him a net approval rating of zero.

Labor leads the Tories in constituencies, mostly in the North and The Midlands are down seven points in just two weeks.

The poll was taken on 23 July following Labor's mixed results in three by-elections last Thursday.

Labor won a stunning victory at Selby and Ainsty, knocking out the Tories' majority of over 20,000. , but failed to win Boris Johnson's former seat in Uxbridge and South Ruislip as the Tories held on, winning a narrow majority of 495 votes.

Uxbridge's result was a major disappointment for Labor as the failure to win the seat was widely attributed to voter backlash to Sadiq Khan's extension of Ulez's scheme.

A new poll shows Sir Keir's Red Wall approval rating has dropped five points from the previous poll two weeks ago.

Approval of his activities as leader of the Labor Party fell by one point, while disapproval rose by four. A net approval rating of zero was the lowest recorded by Sir Keir in the field since minus five on September 4.

Rishi Sunak's last approval rating at Red Wall was -20, an improvement of two points on previous poll.

Holding Red Wall seats in the next general election is likely to be critical to Tory hopes of staying in power.

Labor voted overwhelmingly to lead Red Wall in for many months. Its lead in the latest poll was still a solid 18 points, but the lowest since May 28.

The party's support was 48%, down four points, while Tory support was 30%. , three more.
