Exciting events on the track — and a lot of entertainment in the paddock: how was the Festival of Speed on the Nizhny Novgorod Ring.< /b>
Sunday races of the championship and the Cup of Russia, united in the G-Drive series of the SMP RSKG Touring, became a bright end to the Festival of Speed of the SMP RSKG on the Nizhny Novgorod Ring. The changeable weather did not frighten the fans: 3,000 people visited the family motorsport festival in two days. In the intervals between races, they were waiting for competitions, quizzes, a walk along the pit lane and communication with the pilots — but the main events unfolded on the hot asphalt of the track near Bogorodsk.
In the final races of the stage, the task of fast pilots is complicated by the reverse start: who was the fastest in qualifying, is forced to start from the back of the field. Along with difficult weather conditions, this added intrigue to the races — and made the prize champagne even sweeter.
SMP TCR Russia
Ivan Chubarov on the factory LADA Vesta started from the front row — and, despite not the most successful start, he quickly took the lead, and then increased the lead over his rivals, who were carried away by the struggle. Several favorites claimed the podium at once, of which Vladimir Atoev became the most successful. Starting from the 7th position, he was able to overcome the resistance of the most experienced masters Kirill Ladygin, Dmitry Bragin and Pavel Kalmanovich — and burst into the top three. In the end, Andrey Maslennikov lost second place to his teammate without any apparent struggle — and Vladimir Atoev earned a silver medal. And the most important points: after all, Dmitry Bragin remained outside the podium, and now the gap between the leaders of the tournament has become a little smaller. The top five included Alexander Smolyar, who spent a lot of time breaking through the defense of his opponents, but eventually won back three positions.

The hero of the day was Roman Golikov, who won a brilliant victory. Three fought for the podium, and during this battle, Nikolai Vikhansky was outside the track. His offender Maxim Turiyev also lost time in this incident — and finished third, missing Mikhail Mityaev in second place.

Egor Sanin once again confirmed the title of one of the best Russian athletes of our time: during the race he won 8 places, and shortly before the finish line he broke the resistance of the leader and left Andrey Petukhov with a silver medal. Mikhail Simonov finished the third race, but the ground clearance of his car was lower than expected, and his result was canceled, and the bronze award went to Alexei Savin.
S1600
The fight was tight, and Kirill Zinoviev emerged victorious from it. Daniil Kharashun finished second, but after the finish he was punished for a collision with Artem Volkov, and Artem Antonov became second — and Vladimir Lobachev took third place.
Representative of Nizhny Novgorod Timofey Buyanov this time could not please the fans: he fought the whole distance, but even after punishments in the camp of leaders he became the fourth.
CN Sport Prototype
Immediately after the start, the judges stopped the race: Shortcuts of Maxim Skorik and Ekaterina Kapitsa collided during acceleration. During the evacuation, when the safety car drove the peloton through the pit lane, the Legend of Dmitry Karamyshev caught fire — another bright episode. As a result, the athletes had only 10 minutes to compete for the distribution of places at the finish line. And Alexander Dudarev coped with this task better than others. Andrey Gromov got close to the leader, but was content with the second place. Sergey Peregudov became the third prize-winner.
In the incident at the start, Konstantin Sugrobov's Mitjet was also injured — therefore, despite the positions won back at the beginning of the race, the pilot was forced to retire ahead of schedule. And the places among the surviving Legends were distributed as follows: Sergey Lapitsky was the first, Alexander Nazarov the second, Alexei Savin the third.
And following the results of two races, the winners of the partner G-Drive Cup were awarded, for which pilots fight on Shortcut cars. Andrey Gromov became the most productive pilot of the stage, Alexey Khairov received the second place award, Alexander Dudarev — the third. >SMP Historic Cup
The rainy race made the pilots of rear-wheel drive retro models make mistakes — someone took turns in power slides, someone lost control. However, there were no serious accidents, and Dmitry Kozlov, who won in the powerful 2000+ group, oriented himself better than others in such conditions. Vladimir Cherevan finished second in this category, Vladislav Shevel third.
Among the participants of the less powerful Zhiguli1600 group, Andrey Kozlov won, Ivan Tarakanov won the silver, Maxim Kurushin won the bronze.

Regardless of the class, all racing vehicles are filled with high-tech G-Drive fuel from the Gazpromneft filling station network, which is used not only by ordinary motorists, but also by professional pilots. In order for gasoline to help racers achieve improved technical performance, it is regularly tested in extreme conditions — not only circuit races, but also multi-day rally raids. Fuel quality control directly at the autodrome is ensured by a mobile laboratory that conducts regular checks at Gazprom Neft gas stations. With the help of such a mobile van with modern equipment inside, about 10 main parameters of gasoline and diesel can be analyzed in less than half an hour, which allows you to quickly monitor its quality.
The results of the Nizhny Novgorod stage and detailed information about past races are published on the official website of the series.
The next stage will take place in Myachkovo, near Moscow, at the ADM Raceway on August 19 and 20.
