Dr. Katherine Chang, a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Los Angeles, told beauty magazine Allure that she noticed a significant increase in the number of patients from Hollywood.
The interest in her arose in May, when the writers' strike began .
According to Dr. Chang, «a really big influx» occurred after the union Sag-Aftra, representing tens of thousands of actors, joined the picket line.
«It was a little difficult, but we're trying to reach as many people as possible,» she told Allure.
Dr. Chang emphasized that the procedures were not a «fancy solution» but from patients who had been considering cosmetic surgery for some time.
“Suddenly they are given the opportunity, so they are going to take it,” she said.
She said that at least one of her Hollywood patients had a quick transition from a consultation to a facelift in just two weeks.
It's unclear how long the strike will last as actors and writers demand pay increases and guarantees for the use of artificial intelligence.
Given the uncertainty of the length of the strike, industry players are seeking to rather.
According to Dr. Jason Diamond of Beverly Hills, patients usually recover from a facelift within two weeks.
However, it takes up to six weeks for the effects of the operation to be completely invisible on camera.

She said she prefers not to subject her patients to general anesthesia, even with a facelift. , so they recover faster.
Cosmetic procedures are in demand during writers' strike
A similar surge in demand for plastic surgery occurred during the first phase of the pandemic, when the sudden need for online meetings led to people spending significantly more time looking at their face.
Shifting to work from at home also meant that people had more time to quietly recover from surgery.
Dr. Ben Talei, another top plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, confirmed that the strikes in Hollywood have created a similar surge in demand.
His clinic is open on the weekends to keep up with demand.
Many of his potential clients he referred to as «A» and «B» list Hollywood insiders<. /p>
«The actors started calling me as soon as the writers' strike started because they knew something was going on, so they just wanted their advice to be out of the way,» he told Allure.
According to Dr. Talea, some famous patients also use Paris Hilton's hyperbaric oxygen chamber, which is used to speed up wound healing.
«I have, for example, five, six different patients who come to her house to use it,” he told Allure.
“The reason they are going to Paris is because she has this big ward that looks like a ward for four people. It's more social and doesn't feel claustrophobic.»
