The top ten most common violations on the roads of the Russian Federation included driving on toll roads «hare».
There are several paid federal highways in Russia: a certain fee is charged from car owners for driving along their sections. In the future, the number of such roads will increase: for example, the construction of the M-12 Vostok is currently underway, the main course of which will run from Moscow to Kazan, and subsequently it will be extended towards Yekaterinburg and beyond. Both free and toll roads have complexes for fixing traffic violations. Now it has become known how drivers are fined for violations on toll roads.
According to the results of a study by the My Penalties service, in the first half of 2023, Russian motorists began to be caught twice as often on “stowaway” travel on toll roads. Thus, the number of such fines increased from 0.65% to 1.2% of the total (compared to January-June 2022). As a result, this violation was included in the top ten most common on the roads of the Russian Federation.
In addition, according to the statistics of the service, fines began to be issued 2.5 times more often to owners of commercial vehicles — for driving heavy trucks on paid roads «hares». If in the first half of last year such resolutions accounted for 0.91% of the total, then in January-June 2023 the figure increased to 2.3%.
It is reported that the list of the most frequent violations of drivers in the period from January to June of this year included: speeding by 20-40 km/h (such fines account for almost half — 45% — of the total), then there is non-compliance with the requirements of road signs and markings (their share is 6.6%), and the unfastened seat belt closes the top three (3%).< br />
In fourth place is unpaid parking in Moscow, and the share of the total number of violations in the country is 2.44%. In fifth place among the «top» violations is stopping and parking in the wrong place in the capital of the Russian Federation and St. Petersburg (share — 2.41%).
Judging by the “penalty” statistics, the top ten also includes: traffic of vehicles weighing more than 12 tons on roads without payment (share — 2.3%), speeding by 40–60 km/h (1.9%), violation of marking requirements or driving on the side of the road (1.6%), passing cars on toll roads without payment (1.2%), as well as driving at a prohibitory traffic light (such decisions account for 1 ,2% of the total).
As it became known earlier, drivers in Russia received more fines for traffic violations in 2022: the number of decisions issued by traffic police units exceeded 200 for the first time million. This is primarily due to the increase in the number of photo and video recording complexes in the country: there are already at least 25 thousand of them.
