On July 28-30, the 5th stage of the Russian Rallycross Championship was held at the Igora Drive circuit. The season has already crossed its middle, so the pilots do their best in each race, because the position in the final standings of the Championship may depend on it.
More than 60 participants from different cities and regions of the country came to the rallycross competition. It is noteworthy that this year the rallycross was replenished with new pilots who have already declared themselves and showed good results, climbing the podium at the end of the races.
So, for example, in the Championship of Russia, which takes place together with the Championship, in the D2-Junior class, the young pilot Mikhailov Matvey takes the first place for the fourth stage in a row. In second place is Zhuravlev Ivan, who, compared with the previous stage, has risen one position higher. The third place was taken by Malygin Arseniy.
In the Cup of Russia, in the Superauto and D2N classes, a serious struggle also unfolded. Race leaders changed quite often.
So, in the D2N class, after a series of qualifications, the top three looked like this: Anufriev Stepan, Kalinin Nikolay and Pirozhenko Andrey. During the final races, a lot has changed, and as a result, Stepan Anufriev (1st place), Nikolay Kalinin (2nd place) and Rais Minnikhanov (3rd place) got on the podium. Andrey Pirozhenko, following the results of the final races of the 5th stage, dropped to 6th place.
In the Superauto class, there was a serious struggle for 2nd and 3rd place among Stanislav Kokorev and Evgeny Zhivotov. Dmitry Badmaev became the leader of both the qualifications and the stage. Stanislav Kokorev is second, Evgeny Zhivotov is third.
And, of course, the most long-awaited and exciting were the races of the Russian Championship participants, National and Super-1600 classes.
In the Super-1600, after all the qualifications, the top three pilots looked like this: Alexander Kolesnichenko, Kirill Konoplev and Rais Minnikhanov. These pilots pushed all the leaders of the last stage in the table. But, despite such a serious bid for victory, they failed to stay in the top three. The first at this stage was Roman Yankun, the 2nd place was Razil Valiakhmetov, the third was Kirill Konoplev.
The National class also brought some surprises. According to the results of the qualification, the leaders were Kosarev Vladimir, Masikov Alexey and Slepov Daniil, who completely replaced the top three of the last stage. This was followed by two semi-finals, in which the main struggle took place. But all the pilots were able to maintain their positions and climb the podium in such a composition.
There is less and less time left until the end of the season. The last 2 stages will take place in Kazan on the last weekend of August and the first weekend of September.
