Rishi Sunak suggested that Nadine Dorries is not doing her job properly and is letting her constituents down.
Ms Dorries continues to serve as Member of Parliament for Mid Bedfordshire, despite the fact that in June she announced that she was resigning.
Prime Minister said that in her constituency «the people are not properly represented» because the former Minister of Culture has not spoken in Parliament since July last year.
The former cabinet minister under Boris Johnson said she was resigning with «immediate effect» after she failed to receive a peerage on the former prime minister's list of honors.
But she has yet to will officially retire and she remains a Member of Parliament.
Asked about his thoughts on Nadine Dorris on the phone with LBC radio station, Mr Sunak said: «People deserve to have a member of parliament represent them wherever they are.»
“It's just to make sure that your MP interacts with you, represents you, whether it's speaking in Parliament or being in your constituencies, doing transactions, answering your letters.
“It's the MP's job and all that. MPs must live up to that standard.”
When asked if Ms. Dorris was failing to do so, the Prime Minister replied: “Well, at the moment people are not being represented properly.”
Dorris confirmed last week that she would «leave well before the next election,» stepping down from the post she has held since 2005.
Recent polls have shown the Conservatives are on track for the biggest downsizing. electoral defeat in British history in Middle Bedfordshire, a place held by the Conservatives since 1931.
It comes after a tough day of by-elections for the party last month, with the Conservatives losing Somerton and Frome to the Liberal Democrats and Selby and Ainsty to Labor, who are vying for another safe Tory seat. /p>'On the verge of real anger'
Responding to Mr. Sunak's comments, Daisy Cooper, deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats, said: work properly, it really is time to go.

Ms. Dorries announced that she is writing a book, The Plot: The Political Assassination of Boris Johnson, which will be published just a few days before the Conservative Party conference in early October.
