Interestingly, the BMW i7 Protection was the world's first electric sedan with an armored body that protects the driver and passengers from explosions. These vehicles will be produced at the German BMW Group Dingolfing plant and will be officially unveiled at the IAA Mobility 2023 from 5 to 10 September in Munich.
Armored body < strong>BMW Protection is able to withstand not only firearms and explosions, but also provides protection against drone attacks. The protection is based on a combination of advanced technology and many years of BMW experience in the development of armored vehicles.
The body of the model is reinforced with BMW Protection Core armored steel, while the main attention is paid to the doors, bottom and roof. The windows have also been replaced with armored ones that meet the VPAM 10 class, which provides the highest level of protection for civilian vehicles.
The drive of the armored sedan is carried out through a hybrid power plant, including a 4.4-liter gasoline V8 530 HP and 750 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes only 6.6 seconds and top speed is limited to 210 km/h.
Regarding the BMW i7 Protection, it is equipped with two electric motors, the total power of which is 544 hp. and 745 Nm of torque, providing all-wheel drive. The armored electric car accelerates to 100 km/h in 9 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited to 160 km/h.
