Nearly half of voters, including one in five dropouts, believe there should be another Brexit referendum in the next decade, according to a new poll.
A YouGov poll showed that 46% of people believe that a 2016 re-vote on UK membership of the European Union should be held within the next 10 years.
Slightly more than a third — 36% — said they believe that in this referendum period should not be held.
The survey, conducted from 8 to 9 August, also showed that almost half of people believe that Brexit is «not over».
< p>About 49% of respondents said they believe that Brexit is not yet over and not eliminated, and 30% said they thought it was done.
Both Tories and Labor consider Brexit settled, although Labor has said it will renegotiate parts of the divorce agreement in order to establish closer trade relations with the EU. Neither side is pushing for a re-examination of the issue of EU membership.

Beth Mann, political researcher at YouGov, said the new poll data suggests that «there is likely to be a point in the coming years when talk of another referendum will be hard to avoid.»
“However, there are strong partisan divisions that may as we approach the next election and beyond, a large majority of those who currently intend to vote for Labor support a referendum on EU reunification within the next five or 10 years.
< p>“Our data also shows that if the referendum were held now, the UK returning to the EU would come out on top. So while time is on the side of political leaders, this poll suggests that there will likely be a point in the coming years when it will be hard to avoid talking about another referendum.”

YouGov found that if there were a referendum on returning to the EU, about 50% of people would likely vote to bring the UK back into the bloc, and 30% said they would vote to stay out.

The rest of the voters are most in favor of holding a second referendum. About 41% of voters remaining in 2016 support another vote this year, 61% want another referendum within the next five years, and 70% believe a second vote should take place in the next decade.
< p>Among those who vote for Quit, about 8% think a referendum should be held this year, 16% in the next five years, and 20% in the next 10 years.
A clear majority of voters are in favor of Quitting — 63% cent — believe that there should be no referendum in the next 10 years.
