Previously, it was this name that the Korean company decided to “reserve”: the corresponding trademark applications were filed in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, France, Uruguay and Costa Rica. Now the Australian edition of Drive, citing representatives of the local division of Kia, reports that the world premiere of the brand's future pickup truck is scheduled for next year. It also became known that in the homeland, in South Korea, the production of the model, according to the plan, should begin in the first half of 2025. It is expected that the first trucks will reach dealers in the middle of the same year.The Australian office of Kia also noted that the company still needs to conduct road tests closer to the series of prototypes of the future news. So far, only a mule based on the mid-size frame SUV Kia Mohave (another name is Borrego) has been seen on tests. It is not yet clear whether this SUV will form the basis of the novelty.

Kia Tasman is supposed to have a diesel version (Recall that such cars are still in demand in some markets, including Australia). According to rumors, the diesel model will have a two-seat cab, the payload of this «workhorse» will be about 1000 kg, and such a pickup truck will be able to tow about 3500 kg.
