Volkswagen showed in action one of the chips of the new generation Tiguan

The German brand is preparing for the premiere of the third generation crossover. The model will be fully revealed in autumn, but the start of sales will have to wait.

The first official photos and a short video of the new Volkswagen Tiguan were published in June, and now the brand has posted a fresh video. Alas, the Germans themselves are not yet ready to show the exterior design of the cross: the model is still packed in branded camouflage. But the interior was declassified at the beginning of summer, it is also shown in a new teaser — to be more precise, one of the chips of the upcoming SUV.

The VW Tiguan lost its usual gearbox selector (the right stalk is responsible for controlling the transmission), instead a washer with a small screen was installed on the central tunnel — this is the very feature. Kruglyash can be used to select the driving mode and adjust the volume of the multimedia system (the new Tiguan has a “floating” tablet), in addition, it is able to change the backlight in the cabin (including the diode pattern on the glossy insert of the front panel). Recall that the third generation Tigan is based on the MQB Evo platform, thanks to which an adaptive suspension will be offered for a surcharge DCC Pro. The range of the European crossover will continue to include 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TSI petrol turbo engines, as well as a 2.0 TDI turbodiesel. But the main bet in the Old World, of course, will be made on a rechargeable hybrid: it will get a more capacious battery, in addition, the petrol-electric Tiguan will be available in two power options (the current hybrid has one modification).

The new Volkswagen Tiguan will celebrate the world premiere this fall, but the crossover will enter the European market only next year. In Russia, the model now has only a “parallel” future.
