In terms of design, four-doors intended for other countries, as expected, repeated the version for Korea. The “stuffing” varies depending on the region.
The first country where the restyled Hyundai sedan appeared was native Korea: there, the model, we recall, is called Avante, the modernized cars reached local dealers in March of this year. Now, finally, the refreshed Elantra is entering the market directly: sales started simultaneously in Turkey and China.

Externally intended for different countries, the four-doors generally copy each other, except that the two-tone color has so far been announced only for the “celestial” Elantra. Differences from the pre-reform model are headlights of a more traditional shape instead of “boomerangs”, a new radiator grill divided in two, other bumpers and wheels, plus relief inserts now flaunt in the rear roof pillars. At the same time, the Chinese sedan is still slightly larger: its length is 4720 mm versus 4710 mm for the global Elantra (the indicators of pre-styling four-doors are 4680 and 4650 mm, respectively). Wheelbase — the same 2720 mm.

As in the homeland of the brand, along with the standard sedan, the Chinese have access to a “warmed up” version of the Hyundai Elantra N Line, its features are a more aggressive body kit, red decor, a black spoiler on the trunk lid and exposed twin exhaust pipes. In other countries, the performance «under the sport» will also be, only later.

The interior of the «world» Elantra has not changed much, only the finishing materials have become different. But for the Chinese model, the climate control unit with buttons and washers is new (the pre-reform sedan in China had an original touch panel). Own feature of the «celestial» sedan is a truncated steering wheel. Regardless of market, the four-door also includes a virtual instrument cluster and multimedia system (each 10.25-inch display), adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist.

In Turkey, the sedan is offered with a 1.6 petrol aspirator (123 hp), which is combined with a CVT. The Chinese standard Hyundai Elantra is equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.5 engine (115 hp) and CVT, and the “sported” version of the N Line in the Celestial Empire is equipped with a 1.4 T-GDI turbo four (140 hp) in combination with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. In Korea, Hyundai Avante can be bought with the same 123-horsepower 1.6 engine and its LPI gas version (120 hp), in addition, there is a hybrid with a 141-horsepower installation based on a 1.6 engine, and a turbo engine is installed under the hood of the Avante N Line 1.6 T-GDI (204 hp). In any case, the drive is only front-wheel drive.
For Turks, a restyled Elantra will cost at least 1,395,000 local lira (about 5 million rubles at the current exchange rate), while in China a sedan costs from 99,800 yuan (about 1.3 million rubles).
Meanwhile, Avante/Elantra still has a full-fledged “evil” N-version with a 280-horsepower 2.0 T-GDI, it has also been updated, but so far such a sedan is only available in Korean market.
