Chery will launch a new flagship premium sedan Amulet A9 on the Chinese market

Chery Amulet was originally built on the basis of the Spanish Seat Toledo car and quickly became popular in China, where it was recognized as the brand's bestseller. In the mid-2000s, these sedans were even supplied to the Russian market and produced under the name Vortex Corda in Taganrog at the TagAZ plant in 2010. However, production of the Amulet model was discontinued in 2016 due to outdated design and low sales.

The new Chery Amulet A9 will cease to be a budget sedan and will become the flagship model of the brand. Its design will be inspired by the Arrizo Star concept presented at the Shanghai Auto Show this year. In addition, the new sedan will be a hybrid, equipped with a C-DM engine, the declared fuel consumption of which is 3.8 liters per 100 kilometers. The total range will be more than 1,500 kilometers.

In China, the price of the Chery Amulet A9 starts at 200,000 yuan, which is approximately equal to 2.6 million rubles at the current exchange rate.
