The world premiere of the first mass-produced van of the Swedish brand will take place in November. It is assumed that the MPV is a relative of the “Chinese”.
Debut teasers of the Volvo EM90 minivan were distributed by the brand’s global office at the end of August. Now a fresh batch of official images has appeared: they were already published by the “heavenly” division, because China will turn out to be the main — if not the only — market for MPVs. The van will be an electric car — new models under the Volvo brand will no longer be made “non-green”.

According to preliminary data, the EM90 is the brother of the Zeekr 009 electric van, which launched in China last year (the Zeekr and Volvo brands are owned by Geely Auto). However, the design of the upcoming new product still has its own. Thus, the Volvo EM90 received proprietary T-shaped diode optics, and on the plug that flaunts in place of the radiator grille, there are many either luminous or shiny elements. The Volvo emblem located at the front is also illuminated.

The interior was highlighted in previous teasers — two separate chairs were installed in the second row. In general, Volvo promises a salon that looks like a Scandinavian-style living room. Like the Zeekr 009, the Volvo EM90 minivan will have two sunroofs: in the front part — a standard size, above the passenger compartment — panoramic.
Let us remind you that the Chinese “nine” is built on the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform with air suspension; variations of this “trolley” also underlie the Polestar 4 and Polestar 5 models, the new Smarts and the Volvo EX30 electrocross. The length of Zeekr 009 is 5209 mm, width – 2024 mm, height – 1848/1858 mm (depending on version), wheelbase – 3205 mm. The Volvo EM90 will obviously have similar dimensions.

The Zeekr minivan is available in two versions, each of which is equipped with two electric motors (that is, the Zeekr 009 has all-wheel drive ) with the same characteristics, total output — 544 hp. and 686 Nm. But the batteries are different: the basic “nine” is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 116 kWh, the more expensive version has a battery of 140 kWh. Range – 702 and 822 km, respectively (according to the Chinese CLTC cycle).
