Anthony is due to resume playing for Manchester United, the club announced on Friday.

The Brazilian striker has been on paid leave for almost three weeks while he battles allegations of assault and violent behavior conduct made against him.

Anthony voluntarily attended an interview on Thursday with Greater Manchester Police, which is investigating claims the United player assaulted ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin.

The 23-year-old, who vehemently denies the allegations, was not arrested or detained during the GMP interview and was free to leave without any restrictions at the end.

United have now decided Anthony should return. to the club to resume training and be available again for selection by manager Erik ten Hag.

It is understood that Anthony will not train on Friday and will not be able to face Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in the Premier League league. on Saturday.

United will keep the situation under control while the police investigation continues.

United said in a statement: «Since the charges were first brought in June, Anthony has cooperated with police investigations in both Brazil and the UK.» , and he continues to do so.

“As Anthony's employer, Manchester United have decided that he will resume training at Carrington and be available for selection while the police investigation continues.

“ This matter will be kept under review pending further developments. As a club, we condemn acts of violence and abuse.

“We recognize the importance of protecting everyone involved in this situation and recognize the impact these allegations have on victims of violence.”

Anthony, who has not been arrested or charged in either Brazil or the UK, continues To cooperate fully with the investigation in both countries.

It is understood that he has provided evidence to support his denial of the charges against him.

Cavallin claims she was the victim of a series of attacks by Anthony in between June last year and May this year.

Antoni told Brazilian TV show Fofocalizando this month that he had a «somewhat tumultuous» relationship with Cavallin, a DJ and influencer, but vehemently denied any physical violence.

United are without another striker, Jadon Sancho, who continues to train outside the first team after a public row with Ten Hag. Sancho has yet to apologize for essentially accusing his manager of lying about the reasons for his absence from the Arsenal match this month.
