The Gaza Strip Health Ministry said Sunday that 300 Palestinians were killed, mostly children and women, and another 800 were wounded in the Gaza Strip on Saturday.
The US announced overnight it would send a second carrier group to the eastern Mediterranean to act as a deterrent as the conflict escalates into a regional war.
“Our goal is to eliminate the Hamas leadership to the very top,” an IDF spokesman told reporters at a briefing on Sunday. Richard Hecht. «Mr. Sinwar is a dead man walking,» he said of the Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip.
The Defense Army has refused to say when a ground invasion might begin and says it is still developing plans.

An Israel Defense Forces spokesman told CNN that the military operation's top priority is rescuing the hostages, who are «most likely» being held underground in a «complex network of tunnels.»
The latest Israeli army figures show that the number 126 hostages confirmed.
