"A strong storm ran aground off the coast of Anapa near the village of Vityazevo, the bulk carrier Blue Shark flying the Belize flag. <…> According to the captain of the ship, there are 21 crew members on board, citizens of Syria, India and Egypt,” the publication says.

According to the Main Rescue Coordination Center of the Marine Rescue Service, the ship was waiting in the seaport of Taman to load barley for Egypt. Having received a storm warning, it moved to anchorage.

At approximately 23:00 on Sunday, strong winds and waves tore the cargo ship from its anchors, after which it began to drift towards the shore. On Monday at 1 a.m. the ship became stranded. Now it is on an even keel in close proximity to the shore.

Maritime rescuers, in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, are developing a rescue operation plan. As noted at the Kuban operational headquarters, no food spill was recorded after the emergency.
