Putin called for a significant expansion of training in the field of AI

MOSCOW, November 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in the Russian Federation it is necessary to significantly expand the training of personnel in the field of artificial intelligence.
«It is necessary to significantly expand the training of the strongest scientists -developers. This task should be set to the leaders of the first ranking of universities in terms of the quality of training specialists in the field of artificial intelligence. These are the Higher School of Economics, MIPT and Moscow and St. Petersburg State Universities and Skoltech,» Putin said at the plenary session of the AI ​​Journey conference.
The President also proposed that universities with a high rating of the alliance, by September 1, 2024, expand their master’s and postgraduate programs to train personnel specifically in the field of developing artificial intelligence technologies, and also, at the expense of the federal budget, increase the enrollment of students in basic programs in the field of artificial intelligence.
