MOSCOW, December 8, Sergey Fuks. Gymnast Lala Kramarenko now is the strongest in Russia, but it still needs to prove its leadership in the international arena, said the silver medalist of the Tokyo Olympics, multiple world and European champion in rhythmic gymnastics Dina Averina.
Kramarenko became the best in all four exercises and the personal all-around at the international rhythmic gymnastics tournament, which took place in Yekaterinburg.
“»It’s difficult to say, because it has always been like this: in Russia you are a leader, but at international competitions it’s not a fact , that you will be the first. There are different judges, there are different gymnasts, everyone is completely different, there is a different atmosphere, so you always had to prove there. I was not a leader in Russia for three years, I didn’t win the Russian championship, but I won the World Championship and Cup stages world. Therefore, this cannot be compared, but now Lala is the leader in Russia,» said Dina Averina.
“In Russia, yes, Lala is the leader, but I can’t say anything. If they let me into international competitions, I’ll have to watch,” added Arina Averina.
In July, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) announced the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to international competitions in a neutral status from January 1, 2024.
